Biography
After completing his undergraduate degree at RWTH Aachen University, Dr Magdalena de la Fuente studied theoretical physics at Freie Universität Berlin, where he developed a fascination with algebra and quantum information. He returned to RWTH Aachen to complete his master’s degree while beginning research on topological phases of matter in Prof. Jens Eisert’s group in Berlin. He subsequently pursued his doctoral studies in that group, recently completing his PhD on topological phase transitions and quantum fault tolerance. His research explores the interplay between topological phases of matter and quantum error correction.
